Baptismal Class for parents and sponsors are held on the 3rd Sunday of the month after the 11:30 AM Mass.

The Eucharist is the sacrament by which Catholics receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. For Catholics, this is the most treasured gift given to the Church by the Lord at the Last Supper. In receiving the Eucharist, we are nourished by the Lord. The bread and wine used in the Mass are transformed in all but appearance into the Body and Blood of Christ. The Eucharist is seen as "the source and summit" of Christian life, the participation of the faithful in God's sanctifying action through worship.

Confirmation is offered to 8th grade students after sufficient instruction. Adults wishing to receive Confirmation need to enroll in the RCIA program. Further information is available by calling Mrs. Rose Todaro at the Religious Education Office at (973) 772-2295.

CONFIRMATIONS 2010

This year’s our students received the Sacrament of Confirmation on May 4th at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Wallington. The Celebrant of this Sacrament was Auxiliary Bishop of Newark Most Reverend John W. Flesey, S.T.D., D.D.

Bishop Flesey encouraged the Confirmandi to know the True love that only comes from knowing Jesus.

“True love challenges us to be the best person we can possibly be. If we truly love someone we want to be worthy of that gift, of that friendship and of that love, by living up to be our best selves.”

We would like to thank the parents of all the Confirmandi for supporting their sons and daughters during the time of preparation for the reception of this holy sacrament. We also cannot forget Sister JoAnn Kankowski, MPF Director of our Religious Education program and Rose Todaro Confirmation class teacher for all their love and dedication to teach our children the Catholic Faith.

Also called the sacrament of the sick, it is administered to those in need of healing for mind, body and spirit. The sacrament is also administered to those who are in danger of death or on their deathbed to assist them on their journey to the Lord. Please call the rectory at (973) 772-2295.

All too often people shy away from this sacrament. It is a sacrament which affords us the grace of knowing God's unconditional love, mercy and forgiveness through the prayer of absolution. Do not be afraid. No questions asked. The Sacrament is celebrated on Saturdays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, as a community during the seasons of Advent and Lent and anytime you are in need. Confessions are also available upon request.

Men who feel God's call to the Priesthood or the Permanent Diaconate are invited to speak to one of our parish priests. Currently, there are three members of our parish in seminary and formation to the priesthood or religious life. You may feel called to serve God as a priest or religious. Arrangements for marriages are to be made at least one year in advance. Contact one of our parish priests at the rectory to begin the formation. Dates are scheduled by the priest only, after he has met with the engaged couple. Priests communicate directly with the engaged couple and not the parents.
