Children in grades one through eight meet every Sunday inside the school building from 10:00AM until 11:20AM for classroom instruction in religious education which begins in the home. They are then taken to celebrate the Eucharist as a class, and met by their families in church at 11:30AM. The Mass is integral to their formation and instruction as young Catholics. The program is presented as Class-Mass, and is for all children parishioners who attend the local public school system. The program is a continual formation process from grade to grade. The children are catechized in the doctrinal teachings and sacramental life of the catholic church. A two year preparation process precedes the reception of the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist / First Communion. We have a very vibrant parish and religious education (CCD) program for our children. The religious ed program will continue to develop and thrive as long as all parents continue to live their baptismal promises which is to nurture the faith of our children in cooperation with the parish program and activities. C.C.D. is directed by Sister JoAnn Jankowski, MPF and a group of extremely dedicated volunteers from the Parish. The catechists have received formal preparation for this ministry and have taken the course, Protecting God's Children offered by the Archdiocese. It is required for all parish employees and volunteers who are in contact with your children. For more information please contact Sr. JoAnn at 1-973-772-2295.
